I finished my first knitting pattern

My free knitting pattern for a coaster that doesn't stick to my cup is done! It's pretty exciting to finish this, even though it's a simple pattern.

Folks are helping me test still, so I might make additional revisions based on feedback. One thing I've noticed, which I kind of expected, is that folks use whatever yarn they want or have available haha. So I'll probably at least add a note to the pattern about my early attempts at making the coaster in cotton, which looked great for stitch definition but still stuck to the cup pretty often. It didn't matter that it was blocked or washed.

I hate it when you pick up an empty mug to bring it to the sink, and you don't realize until a few steps that the coaster came along, and it falls on the floor somewhere. Or struggling to use a pinky to hold the coaster down while lifting the mug (impossible).

The parts that took me the longest on the pattern were testing it myself to find the right yarn and gauge, creating my pattern template, and getting the courage to actually put it online haha. I ended up making like 20 coasters in all. And things went slower because everything was the first time, so I had a lot of research at various steps and had to get stuff like a kitchen scale.

Anyway, I'm really happy with the pattern, it was a lot of fun to go through the process. I'm already thinking about my next project. The coaster pattern is on my site here.
